I ran into Rachel from rag-o-rama; she was having a pre-shift meal and I had to use the lav so I asked her to watch my mac and press play; tell me what she thinks.
When I came back her eyes were sparkling (more than usual), all smiles; she said she liked it and it was good.

Going way back to July 2, 2008, this is probably the most mass relate-able song we have yet:

This post is dedicated to a Eric, a friend for several years, who just recently, it seems, we have somewhat drifted apart. We've recorded several jams together, drank a ton, have really "been there" for each other. Hopefully the good times are not over. God knows this recession certainly is messing with folks.

We were in The Black Reds together and placed several shows with Eric as the drummer. The first track I'll share with you is the hit from the summer of 2006; recorded in Joe's garage in Avondale Estates, GA.

Waited All Summer Long was written with my x-wife Cindy on bass. Eric took to it quickly as he comes from the straight up Blink-182/Ramones school of rock.

live with me was introduced on 11/22/2009 08:16:00 AM and loved immediately for its hopeful demeanor and positive, almost innocent upbeatness.

The rhodetripp demo began on the conversation of domestic bliss. What is it's source? Is it luxurious furnishings and surroundings? Certainly no one wants section 8.
It's obviously in the relationship. But do do the two of you have to do everything together, matching his and her towels, completely agreeing and finishing one's sentences whilst sipping eggnog? Probably not, get a dog.

It's probably more about people who have learned how to work thru difficult situations, valuing each other and balancing personal wants and desires with that of the relationship and making careful decisions therewith.

It probably sounds like this.

What words could I put here to get you to listen to the music and yet I know you won't because you don't care about it as much as the music maker. I appreciate that and I understand that but a maker is always trying to get the creation to gain acknowledgment, more than himself; but it's all for not.

I'm sorta liking this track, the familiar sentimentality is there, and it's not so buried as in previous work. There's a bit more confident singing and less reliance of overdubbing vocals, less reliance on the weird, more honesty and emotion.

All scarrzz tracks are now served from Mediafire and have reliable playback and download.

Getting the content of 85Lives before on the same status before the end of the year is a entirely different undertaking, but then how do you eat an elephant..

It's sort of amazing to me that nothing (that I know of) has happened to these tracks (outside of the impact they have made to my inner circle of family and friends). This is stuff I'd love if I found it anywhere, stuff that I would pay to see live or on vinyl.

... we'll see, God is done with me yet!

On 4/24/2009 at 11:00:00 PM back on 85Lives, Jews was first uploaded. I stumbled upon it on my iTunes and knew it was scarrzz ready.

James (@jamsmooth) does a fine job with the bottom end (especially for the "I'm-not-really-a-bass-player" type); Alan and I could only be CE by ourselves but boy this Jew stuff smacks of Cosmic Electric,if they were so inclined as to take the time to cruise craigslist for a full-timer.

This one felt real CCR/QOSTA sorta while in studio, but the release is the same muddy lovin' you get out of an 85Lives drop...especially this 1231 stuff lately. gez.

Ah yes, a track with some history and meaning - finally.
HungryHeart was recorded before a live studio audience during the last Lund holiday in the good year of our Lord 2006.

My good friend Travis ran Bonus Basement, a studio in Norcross, GA where he would ample about making kids for kids and wierdos.

All the production on this is him; he also played drums and bass on it. Well done, he is due a beverage.

Edward sang and did the guitar thing.

This is The Black Reds first entry into scarrzz; they were the predecessor project to cosmic electric, full of vim and vinegar, purpose and dream. They played a handful of shows in the suburbs for future klansmen a hooters in Norcross and a grand finale at The Apache Lounge by GA Tech.

Jamie was introduced on 6/12/2009 10:45:00 PM; I remember when it was being recorded it was a sort of Rick Springfield kind of moment.
James seemed to catch it as his drums were instantly on mark. Once Heath got the slight riff he chugged the bass just right. Even the changes were modular and made sense, they didn't need a ton of interpretation.

I think I may shot the momentum of 3SSTones, being overly idealistic and perhaps even inflexible, perhaps it was a just a session line-up. At any rate; enjoy, jamie.

TRUE STORY

That's what she said came to you from Memorial day weekend, summer 2008. It was recorded for $100USD (the price of a noise complaint) at 3443 (my then N. Highland Steel apartment). We were drinking tequila and kept the sliding glass open so that the byrds downstairs at the pool could enjoy the music. At the conclusion of this set, there was cheering and clapping in the hallway.

Ironically, the building management was really trying to utilize this weekend to fill some empty units. The new landlady came by very irate and threatening a noise complaint, saying that the neighbors were complaining (it was like 2 in the afternoon on Memorial weekend saturday!).

This track sounds McCarren Pool ready, pop this into your iPod and rock that bicycle!

had it's first post was on 6/30/2008 11:45:00 AM, which is where Shitalki was first introduced.

Shitalki was a 2 piece that then recorded as a 3 piece from Cumming, GA consisting of Eric Lynn on drums and then later his friend Kevin on bass. It was a fun little project that lasted from about May 2008 till August 2008.

This is a great track, it somehow feels sort of like it came from In a Priest Driven Ambulance era Lips. Enjoy.

85Lives was first 84 Knives (for about 6 hours) and here is the how the first post introduced itself:

"Hello and welcome to the mp3 blog of 84 Knives. We're not officially official yet but you know how that works.
You'll here and see the past. present and future here. Our first offering is OK! was originally recorded as a Shitalki jam when Romy was around, now a 84 Knives favorite.

Role is essentially a complete solo project.

And the blog entry labels? First label is the recording artist, second is the recording session. Since 85Lives has only bore one release to date; recordings done or uploaded in a certain period get organized by recording sessions.

Get it?

* Side note about 85Lives, it was born on June 30th,2008 and produced 300 unique streamable tracks in one year; leading to the creation of this blog, scarrzz to be a type of quality control, since the content on the 85Lives was uber prolific.

The ironic iconic thing about the creation of the two blogs (and is completely unplanned) is that they were born a year a part, almost to the date.... put that in your peace pipe and smoke it!

Hello, if you are reading this you are early. My name is Edward Lund and I make stuff. I especially like making music. I like to share this music with family and friends so a blog is a great way to get it to them (er, you).

This blog will in no way replace it's originator, 85Lives, but will showcase the stuff we (usually I but you are invited to participate) consider the best material from 85Lives.

I may not be so aloof here, the downloads links may not be secret messages in other languages, but they may. The posts may be direct copy and pastes from the other blog, but they may have additional background commentary and artwork; think of it as linar notes.

The goal of that blog will be to be a proving board for this one, I want to be very careful what makes it here; to many times I have gotten excited about a new post on 85Lives, spread the word, gotten a ton of traffic and then the next day, re-listened to it and found the track to be crap; that won't happen here; only the best.

It's called scarrzz for a reason.
